A record, and a signed answer about it.

Short, because the service is simple. MIZAN keeps a public record and gives a signed yes or no about that record. That is all it is.

What the service is, and is not

MIZAN is a verification and technology provider. A verdict is a statement about a record: whether a counted claim meets a published bar. It is never advice, never custody, and never a guarantee of future performance. MIZAN does not custody, execute, allocate or advise on capital. A decision is about the record, never advice about the payment; the relying party keeps responsibility.

Free to check

Checking a record, a verdict or the ledger is free, for anyone, without an account. Keeping a counted record live is paid, priced in advance, never by result.

Acceptable use

  • Put no personal data into a claim, a bar or a requirement. The ledger is permanent.
  • Do not impersonate another person, agent or platform, or claim an identity you do not control.
  • Do not try to forge, replay or alter a verdict, a key, a proof or a ledger entry. The ledger is built to make this visible; attempting it is grounds for refusal and revocation.
  • Do not overload the service. Rate limits apply per address.

Evidence grades

DECLARED, RECORDED and PROVEN mean exactly what the standard says and nothing more. Read the counted claim before relying on a grade.

Relying on a verdict

If you act on an ALLOW or a REFUSE, the terms of reliance apply: what the answer means, what it never means, and who carries the outcome. You do.

Availability

Every surface is reported live on /status/. No service level is promised. A record you have already downloaded verifies offline without us.

Ownership

The record, the verdicts, the signatures and the software behind them are MIZAN’s. Your claims, your data and your keys remain yours; you give us only the right to count, publish and prove them as the service does.

Privacy

What we keep and what we never see is on /privacy/.

Disputing a verdict

A verdict can be contested by its subject or by the requirer that ran it, on the record and never by deletion. The grounds, the window and how it is decided are on /disputes/.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. Disputes go to the courts of Delaware.

Changes

We update the date at the top when these terms change. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
