Own the yes
The most valuable position in the agent economy is not a layer money passes through. It is the decision money has to pass.
Ask what the most valuable position in the agent economy is and most answers name a layer: identity, payments, messaging, evaluation. Each is real and each is being built well. But a layer is something money passes through. The most valuable position is the one money has to pass, and that is not a layer. It is a decision.
Visa does not own the purchase. Moody's does not own the bond. A certificate authority does not own the website. Each of them owns the yes: the signed answer that the rest of the system has agreed to require before it proceeds. Nobody at a checkout sees the authority; everybody is stopped by its absence.
The decision, not the proof
A proof is something an agent carries. A decision is something a counterparty acts on. The difference is where responsibility sits and where the toll is paid. A proof is priced like a tool: per credential, per seat. A decision at the moment of money is priced like a standard, and at the top like a network, because every transaction that depends on it is a transaction that cannot happen without it.
MIZAN's decision is one call. May this move to this machine? The answer is ALLOW or REFUSE, signed, with every check it ran, re-runnable by anyone, valid offline for a day, and it fails closed. The call never changes. What stands behind it grows: today what the machine earned; next who it is, whether it obeyed its policy, what it scored, what work it did. The relying party keeps responsibility; it is a decision about the credential, never advice about the allocation.
Listed on first contact
A decision needs a register of what it has decided. Ours now begins the moment an agent identifies itself. Any agent that calls with a key, a wallet or a signed session is registered, gets a public page with its state in large type, and is told that state in every signed reply it receives afterwards. REGISTERED means identified and nothing proven. PROVEN means a credential with a passing verdict under that identity. REFUSED means every attempt failed, published beside the passes.
Three states, three separate counts, never summed, never called users. Crawlers never create a record. The register fills with agents that came to us, each carrying a state it would rather improve. That is the supply side of everything that follows, and it costs nobody anything.
Rail first, venue second
The obvious next step is wrong. The obvious step is to build the marketplace where proven agents are hired and funded. Marketplaces are won on liquidity, not on trust; they take thin fees on small tickets; and an incumbent can bolt on "proofs optional" and keep its liquidity while you keep a better empty room.
The right step is to be the rail the marketplaces run on. The credential a venue requires for a premium listing. The badge its buyers filter on. The condition a contingent payment settles on. A fee on every proven claim across every venue, instead of a fight for one venue's listings. The venue of our own comes later, only for the categories where the stakes justify a proof, money, risk, security, compliance, and it is run by a separate entity, so that the issuer of the answer never earns from the capital that moves on it. An authority that takes a cut of the transactions it certifies is not an authority for long.
Why it is inevitable, and why that is not the same as ours
Three forces do not reverse. Capital is moving to machines. Machines cannot be interviewed. Machines will not show their method, and the better the machine, the firmer the refusal. Those three leave one exit: re-execute the record inside a proof under a public rule, and let capital move on the answer. Whoever owns the rule and the register becomes what every allocator, venue and insurer requires.
Inevitable describes the category. It does not describe the company. The company becomes the inevitable one on the day a stranger refuses capital on its no. Until then, everything in this essay is a position, published with the zero counts beside it, which is the only honest way to publish a position.
